Meldung von JF zu beiden Duke`s

A quick end of week update about the Black Square Dukes for you.
The product pages have been updated with new and latest specs. Well worth a read!

Latest screenshots added to the product pages, a selection of which are included here.

New manuals and a Differences document (covering the Piston and Turbine version) included on the product pages to download and view.
From next week we'll be adding product videos to our YouTube channel and sharing those with you. The plan is to have all the videos ready for the release so you'll have good reference material. Our plan remains to have this ready for release early part of April. Currently looking at w/c 8th April.

For now enjoy getting stuck into all the reference materials and checking out the full specs.

    Have a great weekend!

    Updatemeldung von DC Designs:

    FRIDAY NEWS UPDATE
    Hi folks!

I’ve been hard at work on the first update work on the F-16 Vipers this week, and have some very early-work images to share. The shots show the new modelling around the HUD mount and instrument shroud, as well as new detailing here and there in the cockpit. I have also started work on new texture and PBR materials. It’s very early work, with some basic modeling work in place but no enhancements yet to seats or controls etc, but I thought folks would want to see what was being done.

We also have a tentative release date for the SC Designs F-5E Tiger II – March 21st. Custom sounds should be delivered this weekend, all being well, allowing for an updated submission to include them ready for the launch. This date can change though, so don’t hold us to it, it’s in the hands of the Marketplace team, who are coordinating the launch to coincide on both Xbox and PC / Third Party stores. Fingers crossed all will fit into place for that date.

There should be preview videos on YouTube of the F-5E Tiger II from popular sites like Boresight, Captain Kenobi and others, with many more to follow over the coming days.

Also, regarding SC Designs, given that it is basically the same entity as DC Designs and that it’s unlikely to change in the future, we’ll be closing the SC Designs Facebook page soon as it’s a bit pointless having two pages for what has essentially become the same company. All SC update information will be posted here from now on and I will make a post about this on the SC Designs page too of course.
That’s it for this week. There won’t be an update next week as I’m away from my desk on Thursday and Friday, but will return here the week after for more F-16 visuals and modelling updates and hopefully further details of the work.

    Updatemeldung von Azurpoly zur Bronco

    [BRONCO] Project Update

Time for fresh news on the Bronco front!
Beta testing phase is reaching an end, with all the major bugs now fixed. Many thanks to all the testers who invested a lot of time testing our aircraft, pushing us to improve each part of it. We still have some work to do but we are close to reach the quality for which we consider the product as releasable.

Spoiler alert: we do not have any release date yet. The Bronco will be ready when we consider it is. We want to release a finalized product, free of bugs 🪳, and we are sure that everybody can understand it. In addition, we need to think about the optimal release date based on forthcoming events (MFS SU15 update and Spring Sale). In any case we will communicate when we have more information to provide.

Talking more about the aircraft, we can already tell you about the liveries included in the package:
    - Montélimar Museum (US Marines livery reproduction)
    - Luftwaffe (OV-10B)
    - Cal Fire
    - US Marines VMO-6
    - US Navy VAL-4 (3 liveries)
    - US Navy VS-41
    - Colombian Air Force
    - Royal Thai Air Force We plan to work on more liveries and we will provide a paintkit as we do for all our aircraft.

We leave you with more screenshots illustrating some of the nice features we have on the aircraft:
    - Jettisonable fuel tank thanks to @TouchingCloud help.
    - Optional GPS unit for those who need a modern touch.
    - Operational optical sight and guns. As explain in previous posts, MS Marketplace copies cannot depict weapons, a patch will be proposed on our website in order to have them.

MSFS TORNADO PROJECT UPDATE and FAQs - LONG POST
(Spoiler: no news about the release yet)
    ++++++++++++++++++++++++

Let's start discussing the elephant in the room, that is the release date: at the moment it is not set. We have still some minor bugs to squash, a couple of things we'd like to improve and features we want to add. So, while it is already completely flyable, it is not ready yet. Moreover, we are getting dangerously close to SU15 release and spring sales, which are both not great as a launch window for different reasons.

Bad news, we know. On the other hand, the XBox preliminary test went really well - and the plane runs better than we expected (credits to Asobo).

Anyway, the project is 99% done - so you will not have to wait too long to fly the Tonka - but you know our mantra ("it is ready when it is ready"). You also know that our projects are constantly evolving, so we are already planning for post-release improvements, but this does not mean we will release an incomplete project.
We will provide an update on the release date ASAP.

Now, time to reply to some FAQs:

    PRICE:
Exact price depends on a number of things (applicable VAT, currency exchange etc.) but it will be in the area of 29.99 EUR + VAT.

    VERSIONS:
The core version is the (very) early Tornado IDS. External models for early GR.1 and ECR versions will also be provided, but they will share the IDS cockpit.

    WEAPONS AND LOADOUTS:
The aircraft model will include the following: - MK-82, MK-82SE, MK-83, Kormoran and Sidewinders
    - AGM-88 for ECR version
    - External fuel tanks (including 2250L for the GR.1 version)
    - BOZ, Cerberus and Sky Shadow pods As you know, weapon models are NOT allowed on Marketplace items, but the IndiaFoxtEcho Companion Package will be supported and fuel tanks and ECM pods should be present also on XBox copies.

    BACKSEAT/MULTICREW
You can jump on the backseat, but functionality will be limited to what is necessary for navigation and normal aircraft operation.
Proper multicrew is NOT supported (hopefully this will be improved with MSFS2024).
Note that at the moment, if you start "cold and dark" YOU MUST jump into the backseat to start the Main Computer and the IN, SAHR, Doppler and CRPMD systems.

    LIVERIES
Since the whole team is Italian, the livery package at the moment is a little biased towards the Bel Paese... but we will add more liveries in future. At the moment we have:
    - 11 AMI liveries (9 IDS + 2 ECR)
    - 4 Luftwaffe liveries (3 IDS +1 ECR)
    - 5 RAF liveries (3 camo + 1 desert + RAE)
    - 1 Saudi livery
We are working on more, and we'll also provide a paint-kit.

    IN-FLIGHT REFUEL
We are using a solution similar to the F-35, so that, in certain conditions, you can actually refuel the aircraft during flight. However, it refuels "out of thin air". Buddy pack will not be present in the initial release, but we are looking to add it with an update.

    TERRAIN FOLLOWING RADAR
It is there... well, sort of. Given that a proper TFR is not natively supported by the SDK, we have explored different possibilities (including some which were very accurate, but had potential compatibility problems)...and in the end we decided to go for a simple solution - which works relatively well.
Basically the avionics use data from the radar-altimeter to try and guess the terrain profile... it works better than expected, provided that the ride height is higher than the highest altitude variation you will encounter. Of course, the higher the speed and the lowe the ride height, the higher the collision risk.

    X-BOX RELEASE
As we wrote above, the initial test was very positive in terms of performance and load times... but of course we will retest the final version. If these results are confirmed we will release the XBox version along the PC version, otherwise there may be a slight delay.

Lt. dem Discord Kanal von REX Simulations ist die aktuelle Version: 6.0.2024.0222.

Unter "Automation" kann man "Enable terrain installation" nicht aktivieren. Dort steht in roter Schrift "Terrain textures are not available for this time of year"
